Our privately owned attraction is a real working alligator farm. Started in 1982 by Mr. John Hudson, the farm originally began as an airboat ride attraction.

In 1985 the State of Florida permitted commercial farming of alligators and Mr. Hudson opened the first such farm in Dade County. In the 60's, the American alligator had almost become extinct and was placed on the endangered species list by the Federal Government. Commercial farming was correctly seen as a way to insure the preservation of this reptile, which traces its existence back to the time of the dinosaurs.

Our farm is located at the edge of the Everglades, however, it is not a part of the Everglades National Park. We have endeavored to keep a rustic atmosphere that is representative of the first settlers to the area, and at the same time live in harmony with the Everglades' pristine environment.

During the shows visitors get a chance to hold baby
alligators or snakes and make pictures.

The main McDonald's Air and Sea Show starts Saturday May 3rd at 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of A1A and Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the show continues on Sunday May 4th for the same hours. The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show features Special Events including: 13th Annual Free Kids' Fishing Clinics, Face painting, "Catch-a-Fish" Kids Crafts and special entertainment will be on tap, courtesy of South Florida Parenting. Kids ages 4-16 must be registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Registration begins at 10:00AM Saturday & Sunday and includes FREE child's admission to the boat show.

Each day, the first 100 kids to register will receive a Free South Florida Parenting Kids Fun Pass and Angler Photo. Upon completion of all learning stations, kids will receive a Free rod, reel, tackle kit and T-shirt, while supplies last.

Since its opening in 1977, The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens has been a center for Japanese arts and culture in South Florida, with rotating exhibitions in its galleries, tea ceremonies performed monthly in its Seishin-an tea house, an educational outreach program with local schools and organizations, and Japanese traditional festivals celebrated for the public several times a year.

The original building, named the Yamato-kan, is modeled to suggest a Japanese villa. It features a ring of exhibition rooms embracing an open-air courtyard with a dry garden of gravel, pebbles and small boulders. The Yamato-kan offers a permanent exhibit chronicling the history of the Yamato Colony, a Japanese farming community in South Florida 100 years ago.

Previously hosted the world famous King Tut exhibit. Now hosting: The Spectacle of Life: The Art of William Glackens. The Glackens Collection ranges from the artist’s earliest known painting (Philadelphia Landscape, from 1893) to his last completed canvas (White Rose and Other Flowers, from 1937). The collection also includes works by such contemporaries of William Glackens as Maurice Prendergast, Ernest Lawson, and John Sloan.

2007 featured the Highwaymen, a group of black artists from the Fort Pierce area, who traveled the Florida of the 50s and 60s, selling freshly finished paintings out of their cars on the sides of roads or going door to door to commercial establishments that might be in the market for some inexpensive generic art to deck the walls.
